Romantic Valentines Day Ideas

Like anniversaries, Valentine’s Day is one of the most special days for couples.  On Valentine’s Day, lovebirds take a moment to remind each other how much they care.  Take Valentine’s Day seriously by saying “I love you” in a unique and meaningful way.

Women melt over this holiday.  Even if she is saying that she does not want to do anything out of the ordinary, do not take those words as true.  Chances are if you do, she will be hurt or maybe even a little angry.   In your eyes this day may seem a little mushy, or maybe not.  Either way take this once a year opportunity to spoil her a little bit – she will never forget it.

Every woman loves a romantic surprise.  Talk to her boss, and arrange to pick her up early, then spirit her off to a romantic day of Valentine’s Day celebration.  She will be smiling from ear to ear when you greet her with a beautiful bouquet of Valentine’s Day flowers.

Plan a getaway with just the two of you.  You don’t have to go far; a nice hotel in your town provides a change of scenery and a perfect opportunity for a two-day getaway.  Order room service and a bottle of chilled champagne.  Many hotels will prepare your romantic getaway by adding romantic details to your hotel suite, like rose petals scattered on the bed cover.

Another great idea would be to just keep it simple.  One of the nicest Valentine’s celebrations I can recall was a surprising moment.  All morning I did not hear one “Happy Valentine’s Day!”   By the end of my workday, which I cut short on my own, I was so upset that my face must have been beet red.

After leaving work, I went to my favorite watering hole for a late afternoon cocktail.  I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the tables were each decorated with a single red rose and a card announcing our first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife.  I was emotionally overwhelmed and began to cry.  All was forgiven, and it turns out my husband had planned to receive a phone call from a coworker letting him know I was on the way.  We continued our Valentine’s Day celebration with a wonderful dinner and enchanting sunset views.

Making Valentine’s Day a day to remember just takes a little creativity.  Try to surprise her.  Women like a little romantic mystery.  Some of the typical romantic ideas like chocolates, Valentines flowers, dinner, and romantic cards are wonderful, but try spicing them up with a little variation.  For example, try phoning ahead to the restaurant so she’ll be greeted at the table with a printed Valentine’s Day note.  Even if she pesters you about Valentine’s Day plans, don’t give in.  Surprise her with a mystery Valentine’s Day treat.

Valentine’s Day is a special day for couples.  It should be treated this way.  Regardless of how the day is spent or if you send flowers Valentine’s Day, make the moments spent with her special ones.
